I’m Asmaa — and I’m excited to share a bit about my professional journey with you.
My path has been uniquely shaped by academic transitions, cultural shifts, and professional discovery. If you’re navigating a career crossroads, I hope my story resonates with you.
🎓 From Psychology to People
I began my academic journey in Iran, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. After moving to Canada, I was faced with a tough realization — continuing in the same field might not be practical. That moment of uncertainty led me to explore new directions, and I found myself drawn to Human Resources.
In 2017, I pursued a Postgraduate Certificate in HR Management at Georgian College. That marked the beginning of a new professional chapter.
💼 Starting Fresh in a New System
My first Canadian role as an Office Administrator helped me understand the local work environment and build confidence. In 2021, I transitioned into a role that I truly enjoy — Onboarding Specialist — where I’ve had the opportunity to welcome hundreds of employees and contribute to shaping a smooth hiring experience.
📊 Finding Power in Data
Along the way, I met a mentor who introduced me to the world of Data Analysis — and it changed everything. I quickly realized the potential of using data to improve not just HR processes, but the overall employee experience and business performance.
With a strong foundation in Psychology and HR, I’m now focused on integrating HR Analytics and digital tools into my work — and helping others do the same.
🚀 Looking Ahead
This blog is where I’ll be sharing insights from my journey into HR analytics, reflections from my certifications, and ideas on how to make HR more strategic and impactful through data.
Thank you for joining me. I’m excited to connect with others who share a passion for innovation, people, and purpose-driven work.
Best regards,
Asmaa
